A cup half full or a cup half empty? Oddly enough, perception is a difficult thing to change. How we perceive life around us can change how we feel and how we perceive our sense of self.
There is so much noise pollution and static in life that takes us so far away from our sense of self. I clearly remember a few moments in life when I have had reality checks that always brought me home. For some reason, they always center around negative life changing events.
The loss of my grandmother was one. The truth about my existence was another. The chosen loss of certain loved ones were many. Tough choices were many. Out of grief comes an awakening. However, a few things have been learned. It can take a straw in a huge pile to make the stack crumble. It can be one brick in the layer to weaken to make a building crumble.
The other side of the coin.
It can take a kind word to make a bond of friendship. It can take an embrace to bring your sense of connection to the world to return. A kiss to realize you are in love. A birth to make you see the wonder and beauty of life. However, most of the time, it does not take large moments to make the most impact. Life as a series of moments may be the most significant.
a look between friends. a shared joke. a gift. a touch. one statement. a truth. a bloom of a flower. a wave in the sea. a breeze. one step. one word. a song. a story. a day. a smile. a tear. a snowflake. It starts with one but when multiplied, have great significance.
